Lola Marie Lenger, 90, died peacefully in her Wooldridge, MO home on December 30, 2020.
Lola was born on August 1, 1930 in Wooldridge, MO to Emil and Rose Stock (Heckerman), and grew up there on the family farm.
On June 23, 1957 she married Charles Vernon Lenger. She was a faithful member of the Pleasant Grove Immanuel Lutheran Church, the church where she was raised, and the church she raised her family in.
Over the years, Lola was employed by Selwyn Shoe Store (Boonville, MO), Bells Orchard (Boonville, MO), and Dr. Mechlin & Dr. Denninghoff (Columbia, MO), but it was running a home, raising a family, and home hospitality where she found enjoyment and purpose. She loved watching her children and later, her grandchildren, her pride and joy, in their various church, school, and athletic activities. Additionally, she enjoyed visits from family and friends where visitors never left her home without being well-fed. She delighted in a good card game with family, friends, and the ladies card group in Prairie Home. Gardening and fishing were some of her other favorite activities.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Vernon Lenger; her parents, Emil and Rose Stock (Heckerman); a brother, Ralph Stock; and a sister, Mayme Kunze (Stock). She is survived by a son, Gary Lenger (Kim), Columbia, MO; two daughters, Pamela Vassar (Jack), Olathe, KS, and Connie Gerdt (Kevin), Wooldridge, MO; seven grandchildren, Emily Lenger, Ashely Smith (Lenger), Kourtney Vassar, Kyle Vassar, Parker Gerdt, Amanda Skultka, and Amy Weathers; four great-grandchildren, Zackary Brice, Jackson Weathers, Owen Weathers, and Sawyer Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 10AM on Tuesday, January 5th, 2021 at Howard Funeral Home in Boonville, MO with Pastor Paul Weisenborn officiating. This service will be live streamed on Howard Funeral Home’s Facebook page and Website. Burial will follow at Pleasant Grove Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery.
