Marcella was born in Prairie Home, Missouri on September 27, 1928, the daughter of Raymond and Clara Lohse Huth, both preceded in her death. She attended rural Cooper County schools and graduated from Prairie Home High School. On October 11, 1947 she was united in marriage to Lashley R. Martin, who preceded her in death in 2009. They moved to a farm near Lone Elm and lived there until retirement when they moved to Boonville.
Marcella was a life- long member of Clark’s Fork Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years, and active in the LWML. After moving to Boonville, Marcella worked at Sunnyday’s, A&W Drive-in, and Spic and Span Cleaners and made many new friends at those jobs. She enjoyed the monthly outings of the “Krohnies”, her neighborhood ladies. She was also an active member of the Cooper County Hospital Auxiliary. Marcella and Jeannie enjoyed volunteering together at the VA Hospital in Columbia. She was also a big Fenton Glassware collector, Lashley and her used to go to antique shops to look all the time. Marcella enjoyed piecing quilts and made one for each member of her family. She moved to Colony Point Assisted Living facility in Columbia in November of 2018 and enjoyed visiting with new friends and participating in activities there. We are grateful for the loving care the staff provided her during her time there.
Marcella is survived by brother Kenneth (Helen) Huth of Boonville, daughters Linda (Ken) Brokamp and Kristie (Todd) Snapp of Boonville, grandchildren Beth Brokamp of Columbia and Dylan Snapp of Boonville, and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
