Margaret Elizabeth (Young) Twenter

Margaret Elizabeth Twenter, 92, of Boonville passed away August 27, 2021, at Tipton Oak Manor in Tipton, Missouri.

Visitation for Margaret will be Tuesday, August 31, 2021, at Howard Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday September 1, 2021, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church beginning at 10:00 a.m. with rosary recited at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be at 1:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Cemetery in Clifton City.

Margaret Elizabeth Twenter was born January 31, 1929, the daughter of Frank and Louise (Seitz) Young. She graduated from Smithton High School in 1947. Margaret married Maurice Twenter on December 1, 1956, at St. Joseph Church in Clifton City. She was a member of the SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Daughters of Isabella. Margaret helped with the funeral dinners at the church and with Knights of Columbus Bingo on Friday nights.  She enjoyed quilting and cross stitching. She also enjoyed going to garage sales, and spending time with George going to the lake or square dancing. Margaret won Levi Queen in 1950 at 21 years old, she held that title proudly through her life. Margaret helped at elections and volunteered at the Cooper County Memorial Hospital with the Auxiliary. She was loved by many and will be dearly missed.

She loved having her  family over to her house especially for the holidays. She would cook non-stop, and would try out new recipes for everyone to enjoy. Her specialty was deviled eggs.  She would rather have lots of  leftovers rather than run out of food and people go home hungry. Margaret also enjoyed attending her grandchildren's music recitals and other important events in their lives. She was always there to lend a hand to anyone who needed help. She was truly a wonderful Mom, Grandma, Great-Grandma. She loved her family with her whole heart!

Margaret is preceded in death by her parents, long time friend George Thiel, daughter Dana Marcum, brothers Paul, Raymond, Lawrence, Jake, Simon and Ralph Young, and sister Elaine Young. He is survived by her son Herbert (Shannon) Twenter of Pilot Grove, and daughter Lisa (Twenter) Rehmer of Pilot Grove, grandchildren Joe (Holly) Rehmer, Andy (Kendra) Rehmer, Nathan (Jenna) Rehmer, Jennifer (Nathanael) Hart, Jason Marcum, Abby (Zach Bluestone) Twenter, and Erin Twenter, and 14 great grandchildren.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the St. Joseph Cemetery.
