Mary L. Watts, 91, of Boonville, MO passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Katy Manor Nursing Home in Pilot Grove, MO. Mary was born July 27, 1930, the daughter of Nelson Howard and Nettie Louise (Schuster) Stine in Boonville.

There will be no services held at this time.

Mary married Raymond C. Watts, April 16, 1950, living all of their life in the Boonville Area. They met while attending a get- together with friends of which it was customary for the single ladies to bring a box lunch (Mary’s consisted of sandwiches and a peach pie) and gentleman callers would bid on them. Unbeknownst to Raymond, mutual friends purchased the box lunch under Raymond’s name obligating him to share the lunch with Mary. They enjoyed 60 plus years together and traveling to the lake and across the United States when possible. She graduated from Boonville High School. Mary was employed at Mattingly’s Department Store before finishing her working career at United Missouri Bank (Kemper State Bank). She enjoyed and spent many hours knitting, sewing, and embroidering all types of items and then displaying her products at craft shows around Central Missouri. In addition, she enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Mary always had a beloved pet with her, cat or dog, her dog Cecil was with her till the end.

Mary is survived by one brother, Jacob Franklin (Fay) Stine, two sons, Michael (Linda) and Roy (Theresa), two grandchildren, Erica (Jason) Anderson and Shawn (Kim), two great- grandchildren Phillip and Gabrielle Laurio and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Nelson Howard Stine, Jr., and sister Patty Linneman.

The family would like to thank Katy Manor and staff for their outstanding care of Mary and their help during this time.
