Matthew R. Horst, 36, of Boonville passed away unexpectedly Tuesday evening August 10, 2021, at his home.
Visitation for Matthew will be 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. Monday, August 16 at Howard Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow the visitation. Burial will be in S.S. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.
Matthew Ray Horst was born April 11, 1985, in Marshall, Missouri the son of Robert and Linda (Ballew) Horst. He graduated Boonville High School in 2003. He enjoyed gardening and fixing things; he could fix just about anything. Matthew would help anyone who needed it anytime, he had a heart of gold. Matthew enjoyed watching sports, especially the Kansas City Royals and the Kansas City Chiefs. He also loved to be with his two cats Callie and Allie. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephew the most, he was the best uncle. Matthew was loved and will be so dearly missed.
Matthew is preceded in death by his grandparents Clarence Daniel Ballew, George Edward Horst and Clara Marie Horst, great uncle Ray Stoecklein, Emil (Elaine) Martin, great aunt Edna Martin and uncle Evertt Gilliam. He is survived by his parents Robert and Linda Horst of Boonville, grandmother Mary Louise Ballew of Slater, great aunt Isabell Stoecklein of Boonville, aunts Donna Gilliam of Gilliam, Mary Spradling of California State, and Donna Horst of California State, uncles Edwin Louis Horst of Boonville, Larry (Karen) Ballew of Macon, Darrell Ballew of Slater, sisters Margaret Mary (Brian) Schuessler of Blue Springs, Angela Marie (Brian) Howard of Dallas, Texas, and Teresa Ann (Tim) Nowlin of Boonville, nieces Amber Michelle Meek, Sydnee Kay Nowlin, and Zeilya Ann Nowlin, nephew Flynt Opie Nowlin and cousins Tamara (Cain) Morrow, Alicia (Dan) Bothel, Brian Ballew, Cathy Ballow, and Jennifer (Darrell) Cash.
