Obituary

Michael Wayne Floyd "Pinky" passed away Friday, April 28, 2023. Michael was born October 19, 1965, in Gurdon, Arkansas to Gloria Leona Floyd (deceased).  Michael grew up in Gurdon, Arkansas and was raised by Mrs. Donnie Ellen Ross and Hollis Ross (both deceased).  Michael was close to his sister, Susan Bolt and even introduced her to a close friend Kenny Earl McClure, that she later married and had two children, Kenneth Wayne and Randall Earl McClure. Michael grew up with his cousins, Lanette Stinnett and David Stinnett, children of Dora Margaret (Floyd) Stinnett and Donald Franklin Stinnett (both deceased) of Chidester , Arkansas. Michael played football in high school for the Go-Devils and was given the nickname "Pinky" for his love of Pink Floyd.  Michael graduated from Gurdon High School and joined the Army.  While stationed in Germany, Michael met and married his wife, Susanne Hinrichs of Stadt Osterholz-Schambeck, Niederachsen, Germany, and they had a son, Daniel Wayne Floyd.  Michael moved his family to the States and finished his service in Colorado.  Michael then moved his family to Hanson, Massachusetts.  Michael went to work for PA Landers where he was a mechanic and drove a gas truck for many years before getting laid off.  Michael moved back to Arkansas, where he was raised, and went to work for a company that laid asphalt until the passing of his mom.  Michael spent a few years in Boonville, MO with his sister, Carolyn Nutt Jackson and her girls Savannah Leigh Knoblauch, Jacqueline Carol Trujillo and Chandra Marie Jackson, and worked for the Isle of Capri Casino. Michael went back to Arkansas and went to work for Woodfield, Inc out of Camden, Arkansas doing what he loved to do which was drive a truck.  Michael also loved to ride motorcycles, being outdoors, smoking a stogy and drinking Dr. Pepper.  He enjoyed being with family and friends and was a very loving and caring man that protected and took care of those he loved beyond measure.  He was stubborn to a fault and got great humor out of being that way.  Michael also had two brothers, Nick Tehran Johnson (deceased) and Larry Dean Johnson and Dean's children Nick Johnson and Nadia Ortiz, all out of Texas. Michael had many great nieces and nephews.  Michael is also preceded in death by grandmother Zella Mae (Rogers) Floyd of Gurdon, Arkansas and Grandfather James (Peelegs) Hershal Floyd of Prescott, Arkansas.  Michael will be missed by many.  Ride high, Pinky, Big Brother, Uncle, Um, Cuz, Friend and Dad.

There will be a memorial service for family and friends at a later date around his hometown in Arkansas.
