Wayland "Neil" Coley, 93, of Boonville passed away on September 25th. He was born May 4, 1928 in Tulsa, OK to Claud Coley and Josephine (Worley) Coley. Neil grew up in Pilot Grove and later Sedalia where he graduated from Smith Cotton High School. He enlisted in the Marines and later served in Korea with the Army. Neil worked for Southwestern Bell and retired after 38 years of service.
Visitation for Neil will be Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Boonville from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow in Arrow Rock Cemetery.
He married Violet (Hay) February 15, 1951. Surviving are Matthew Coley and Mark (Janice) Coley. Grandchildren are Lynn (Jason) Reynolds, Joshua (Carrie) Coley, and Lori Klaus. Great grandchildren are Carson and Anna Reynolds, Oliver, Max and Grant Coley, and Caleb, Noah and Addyson Klaus.
He later married Donna (Jones) who survives and has children, Nick (Clovetta) Jackson, Brenda (Richard) Nowlain and James (preceded in death) Jackson. Grandchildren are Joshua (Jill) Jackson, Bethany Jackson, Richard J. Nowlain, Jamie (Brook) Beam. Great grandchildren are Scarlett Beam and Charlotte Jackson.
Neil enjoyed going to church and being with friends and family. He had many hobbies which included NASCAR, Chief’s football, motorcycles, cars (especially old cars), traveling and camping. He also loved to take walks with his beloved dog, Snoopy.
