Norma Jean Newman, age 85, of Boonville, passed away on Monday, September 2, 2024, at the University of Missouri Hospital. She was born on April 8, 1939, in Miltonvale, Kansas, the daughter of Dick and Edith (Canfield) Sheely.
Norma was born and raised in Miltonvale, Kansas. She was married to Charles F. Newman in December of 1954, and they were married for 39 years at his time of passing in 1993.
She was a homemaker, raising 5 children, mostly on her own, since Charles served his country overseas much of the time.
She enjoyed board games, card games, and family get togethers.
Norma is survived by her children Charles Newman, Jr. of New Franklin, Shirley Roettgen (Allen) of Boonville, Carol Allphin of Boonville, Linda Gautier of New Franklin, Jim Newman of Topeka, Kansas; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Newman; her parents; siblings: Nancy, Katie, Everett, Doris, and Glen; and son in laws: Danny Allphin, and John Gautier.
A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2024, with a funeral service to follow at 12:00 p.m. at Howard Funeral Home. Interment will be following the service at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
