Norman Schwartz Obituary

Jacob “Norman” Schwartz, 89, of Boonville Missouri passed away surrounded by his family Friday, December 10, 2021, at his home.

Visitation for Norman will be Friday, December 17, 2021, at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church from 12:00 to 12:45 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 12:45 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Father Mark Smith officiating. Burial will follow in SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.

Jacob “Norman” Schwartz was born July 4, 1932, the son of Jacob John and Anna Marie (Gerke) Schwartz. Norman married Joyce Ruth Pulis August 18, 1962, at the New Hope Baptist Church near Centralia, MO. Growing up, and continuing throughout their lives, Norman’s best friend was his brother Gilbert Schwartz. He worked at Allis Chalmers for 29 years and retired as a Manufacturing Engineering Manager. Norman enjoyed farming, fishing, hunting, and restoring antique tractors throughout his life. He was an active member of the Missouri River Valley Steam Engine Association and was an avid collector of Allis Chalmers tractors. Norman also loved to bowl and over the years was a member of bowling leagues in the Boonville Area as well as Mexico, Fayette, and Independence.  Norman will be dearly missed by his wife, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, a number of nieces and nephews, and many friends.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents, brother Gilbert Schwartz, sister Helen (Schwartz) Hoelscher, and grandchild Danny McCartney. He is survived by his wife Joyce Schwartz, son Allen (Cheri) Wyatt of Independence, daughters Linda (Dennis) Winkler of Independence, Pam (Wyatt) Morris of Independence and Norma Joy (Tom) Otsubo of Oak Grove, brother Harold (Sandi) Schwartz of Overland Park, KS, and sister Betty Ann Sandbothe of Boonville. He also leaves behind grandchildren Noah Frazier, Matt (Kristen) Wyatt, Adam Frazier, Amanda Hayward, Jacob (Corissa) Hayward, Kalena (Ben) Mitchell, Caleb Otsubo, and Michael Otsubo, great grandchildren Isiah and Landen Davis, Allie Hayward, Kailynn Pyle, Mason and Addison Hayward and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Parkinson’s foundation or the Missouri River Valley Steam Engine Association.
