Ronald Leon Bedwell, 75, of Pilot Grove formerly Pleasantville, Indiana passed away at his home Wednesday, June 8, 2022.
Graveside services for Ron will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 11 AM at the Mount Moriah Cemetery in the unincorporated community of Bucktown in rural area of Dugger, Indiana. There will be a memorial celebration at the Rock House in Pleasantville, Indiana.
Ronald Leon Bedwell was born July 26, 1946, the son of Squire and Irene (Shake) Bedwell. Ronald attended Pleasantville High School. He received Sears Outstanding Service Award for his ability to install and repair over 50 machines. He was a Certified Refrigeration Specialist. He received a heating and cooling specialist degree from RSES North American Technician Excellence. He went on to get many degrees in HVAC and started Ron’s Refrigeration. He owned and operated many businesses over the years.
He was a Mason with the Bunceton Masonic Lodge No 456 AF & AM. He never knew a stranger and enjoyed telling stories every chance he got. Ron was strong in his faith and could quote any part of the Bible. He was truly one of the Lord’s Shepherds- an amazing caretaker of the land and protector of the herd. Ron’s battle with cancer began in 2014. Throughout those years he had many struggles, but with his strong will and faith he never gave up. Ronald enjoyed spending time with family and friends, going fishing, and working outdoors especially with livestock. He was a man that would help anyone out that needed it. His fun, loving personality will be forever missed.
Ronald is preceded in death by his parents, daughter Tina Bedwell Bullock, siblings Barbara Thompson, Betty Martin, Bessie Fyfe, and Arnold Bedwell. He is survived by his son Rodney Bedwell of Shoals, Indiana, and sisters Evelyn Hope Graniti from Sandborn, Indiana and Margaret Shelton of Sullivan, Indiana. He also leaves behind 2 grandchildren Sarah Ann Truman and J.J. Bramer and 4 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. He touched so many people over the years and he will be greatly missed.
