Roy Youtsey

Roy Youtsey, 77 of Columbia formerly of Wooldridge passed away Thursday May 4, 2023, at the Bluffs in Columbia, Mo.

Visitation for Roy will be 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday May 10 at Howard Funeral Home with funeral services following at 12:00 p.m. Burial will be in the Walnut Grove Cemetery. 

Roy Lee Youtsey was born January 29, 1946, the son of Frank Youtsey and Dollie Chipley. He married the loved of his life Betty Jean Korte April 3, 1966, in Wooldridge, Missouri. Roy was an Army Veteran, after returning from the Army he went to work for the Boonville Police Department for a couple years before going to work at the University of Missouri as a police officer for 29 years.  He enjoyed going golfing with his son once a week until he got sick, they also enjoyed going fishing. Roy loved to be with his grandchildren, his favorite title was Papa.

Roy is preceded in death by his parents Frank Youtsey and Dolly Chipley, and wife Betty Jean Youtsey. He is survived by his son Michael (Angela) Youtsey of Columbia, grandchildren Ava and Lilli Youtsey, sister-in-law Joan Walther, nephew Jason Walther, half siblings Peggy Welker, Linda Topel, Judy Maddex, Jeff Youtsey, Dave Youtsey, and Mary Lou Miller.

Memorial contributions are suggested to Wooldridge Baptist Church or Wooldridge Community Center.
