Russell “Rusty” Keith Linhart, 68, of Boonville, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, at the University of Missouri Hospital just 5 days before his 69th birthday.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Howard-Millard Funeral Home with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be held at Boonville Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
The family is requesting everyone wear a ball cap or cowboy hat to the service.
Memorials are suggested to the family for his grandchildren.
Rusty was born in Boonville, Missouri on February 4, 1957, the son of Norbert Allen Linhart and Elizabeth Ruth (Friedrich) Lowes.
He attended Olathe High School. He was a mechanic for many years at Mo River Tire and could work on just about any late model car around. He also did carpentry work.
Rusty married his high school sweetheart, Christy Trelc on January 12, 1978, and they just celebrated their 49th anniversary.
Rusty was a lover of life and laughter. He grew up in the muscle car era and loved his 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Eagles Lodge Post # 1022. He enjoyed lots of outdoor activities like camping, fishing, mushroom hunting, arrowhead hunting, softball and riding his motorcycle. His winter sports were playing pool and drinking beer.
Rusty is survived by his wife Christy of Boonville; daughter Angel (Chris) Felten of Columbia; brother Paul (Lorrye) Linhart of Boonville; sister Tina Miesner of Versailles; step-father Ray Lowes; step-brother Allen Linhart of Colorado; three grandchildren, Sophia Marie, Gabriel Victor, and Riley Mae Felten; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother Ruth Lowes, his father Norbert Linhart, and 2 brothers Greg and Darrell Linhart
