Sharon Davis Obituary

Sharon Kay Davis, 80, of Boonville, Missouri passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, January 14th, 2024, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia Missouri.

Visitation and funeral will be held at Howard Funeral Home in Boonville, Missouri on January 23rd, 2024.  Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Tim Fairley officiating.  The burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. 

Sharon K Davis was born May 5th, 1943 in Ohio; the daughter of Edwin & Lucille (Hammer) Ferguson.  Sharon was one of seven children including four sisters: Carolyn, Phyllis, Jan & Lana and two brothers Ed & Roger.  Her family moved to Boonville, Missouri where Sharon attended Boonville Public Schools and graduated from Boonville Highschool as a member of the class of 61’.  Sharon married the love of her life, Jerry Dean Davis, on November 3rd, 1962 at the First Baptist Church in Boonville.  They were married for 56 years until she was widowed in December of 2018.  They had two daughters Linda & Susan, four grandchildren: Jessica, Cayley, Layton, & Noel, and seven great grandchildren: Abby, Anna Brynn, Braxten, Ayven, Jackson, Hunter, and Casen.  Sharon worked as a teller at UMB Bank in Boonville for many years until her retirement. 

Sharon is remembered as being a family-centered, loving and caring person who ensured those she loved were safe, healthy, and happy. She made others’ needs her priority and always made sure their needs were met before her own.  Sharon’s greatest joy was to spend time with her loved ones, making and sharing memories. She especially enjoyed holidays and family gatherings, big and small, where she was surrounded by family & friends, sharing a meal together while engaged in laughter and conversation.  Knowing Sharon was a blessing of the greatest kind.  She will forever be deeply loved and greatly missed by all who knew her. 

Sharon was proceeded in death by both her parents: Edwin & Lucille Ferguson, her husband Jerry Davis, her daughter Susan Wyatt, brother Ed Ferguson, sister Carolyn McDiffitt, mother/father-in-law Raymond & Faye Davis, brothers-in law: Bill Kenney and Jack Davis, sisters-in-law: June Petree, Joy Volrath, Algera Davis & Charlene Ferguson, grandson-in-law Kyle Lloyd, nephews: Brad Davis & Steve Kenney, and niece Donna Jesse.  She is survived by her daughter Linda (Terry) Schler of Boonville, brother Roger Ferguson of Moberly, sisters: Phyllis Kenney of Boonville, Jan (Gary) Lucas of Moberly, and Lana (Ken) Burnham of Moberly. She will be greatly missed by her grandchildren: Jessica Wyatt, Cayley (Andrew) Inskeep, Layton (Sarah) Wyatt, and Noel Schler (Zach Bradley) as well as her great-grandchildren: Abby & Anna Brynn Lloyd, Braxten, Ayven, & Casen Inskeep, and Jackson & Hunter Wyatt. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
