Terry Wayne Burnett

Terry Wayne Burnett, age 77, of Boonville, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. He was born on August 28, 1948, in Boonville, the son of Guy and Margaret (Allen) Burnett.

A visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at Howard-Millard Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Clarks Chapel Cemetery with full military honors.

Terry graduated from New Franklin High School. He served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. He married Patricia “Patty” Newell on April 13, 1974, in Boonville, Missouri and they were married for 40 years at the time of her passing.

Terry worked for MoDot for 21 years until retiring in 2009. He was also very proud of and loved working for Jim Walters at Rockin’ W Ranch for many years. He was a cattleman by heart and was referred to as their HR Manager.

An avid outdoorsman, Terry loved fishing and hunting with his Best Buddy, Larry Crawford and with his nephews. He also enjoyed driving around searching for deer. He was a happy soul who never knew a stranger and would speak to everyone who came by him while sitting on “his” bench at Wal-Mart or at the “coffee table” at Eagle Stop.

Terry was preceded in death by his wife Patty Burnett, parents, Guy and Margaret Burnett; and brother Robert Burnett.

He is survived and will fondly be remembered by his sister, Trish Troost and her husband Rod of New Franklin; his nephews: Justin Page of Boonville, Travis and Christa Burnett of Bunceton, Scott and Kimberly Burnett of Boonville; nieces: Sherry and Johnny Stout of Porum, Oklahoma, Kim and Kevin McGuire of Boonville, Angie Gerhardt of Arkansas; sister-in-law, Linda Newell of Boonville, brother-in-law, Kenny and Ellen Newell of Aurora, Missouri, brother-in-law, Ray Newell of Pilot Grove, Missouri and many other family members and friends.
