Thelma Lorene Linch Shipman went home to be with Jesus on September 7, 2024, at Katy Manor in Pilot Grove, MO, at the age 91. Born on June 19, 1933, in Macks Creek, MO to Emil and Gertrude Linch.
Thelma met the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Jackson Lee Shipman, while attending school at Camdenton. They married on July 8, 1951, and went on to have 3 children: Rhonda, Tammy and Kerry.
Thelma was celebrated as a devoted wife, beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her life was a testament to her profound love and commitment to her family. Thelma and Jack loved going to auctions and she continued to be a hobby collector. She also enjoyed crocheting in her free time.
Survived by daughters Rhonda (Eddie) Heimericks, Tammy (Gordon) Shay; son Kerry (Connie) Shipman; grandchildren: Kristopher (Barbie) Rudder, Dane Heimericks, Abbie (Cody) Ritter, Emily Shipman, Katelynn (Zach) Huckabey, and Amy (Keith) Poindexter; great grandchildren: Jolie & Jase Rudder, Paisley & Remington Huckabey, Creek, Corbin & Hesston Ritter; siblings: Pauline Selby and E.M. “Bud” (Sharon) Linch. She was preceded in death by husband Jack Shipman, parents Emil & Gertrude Linch; granddaughter Kara Shay; and brother-in-law Warren Selby.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at Howard Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial services will follow the funeral at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Thelma's honor are suggested to Unlimited Opportunities Family Support Program.
