"Tony" Harley Anthony Gibson Jr.

Harley Anthony “Tony” Gibson Jr., 75, of Franklin, Missouri passed away Tuesday, January 11, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.

Visitation for Tony will be at Howard Funeral Home Monday, January 17, 2022, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Wayne Purvis officiating. Burial will follow in Clark’s Chapel Cemetery with full military honors.

Harley Anthony Gibson Jr. was born March 1, 1946, in Boonville, Missouri, the son of Harley Gibson Sr. and Georgia Lorene Garrison. Tony served two tours in the United States Army. He received a Purple Heart in 1969. Tony married Cynthia Riley December 30, 1988, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #1022 and was an over the road truck driver for 30 years. Tony enjoyed gambling at the boat and two stepping with Cynthia. He never met a stranger and knew everyone he met; he will be so dearly missed.

Tony is preceded in death by his parents Harley Gibson and Lorene Jackson, brother Randy Gibson, sister Joyce Ann Gibson, daughters Janet Ann Gibson and Loretta Annette Hipkins and granddaughter Candace June Hipkins. He is survived by his wife Cynthia (Riley) Gibson of Franklin, sons Gary (Heather) Hipkins of Shelbina, MO and Dale Riley of Kansas City, KS, daughters April (Dustin) Schmitz of Shelbina, MO, Stephanie (Terry) Lane of East Lynne, MO, and Cathy Sanchez of Franklin, MO. He also leaves behind sisters Phyllis Swearingen of Warsaw, MO and Barbara Swearingen of Boonville, MO, sister-in-law Joyce Gibson of Prairie Home, MO, 17 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
