William "Bill" Vollrath Obituary

William Earl "Bill" Vollrath, 70 of Boonville entered his eternal rest surrounded by his family on Saturday, December 2, 2023, at Boone Hospital Center, in Columbia, Missouri following a brief illness.

Visitation for Bill will be Sunday, December 17, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Howard Funeral Home with a Masonic Service immediately following the visitation at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date.

William "Bill" Vollrath was born April 4,1953 to William Joe and Peggy Sue (Elliott) Vollrath at McCormick Hospital in Moberly, Missouri.

He was Baptized in The First Baptist Church of Boonville on April 22,1962, by the Rev. Glen Irons. He attended school in the Boonville School System.

Bill married the love of his life, Patrice Ann Griffin on Feb. 21, 1987, in the Bunceton Baptist Church.

Together they raised seven children including Tomme Sue Raps (Paul) of Kansas City, MO, Bobbie Jo DeWolfe (Chuck) of Salisbury, MO, Penny Elaine Carver (Derek) of Boonville, MO, Billie Vollrath McCoy (Jesse) of New Franklin, MO, Steven Mark Griffin (Cynthia) of Fayette, MO, William Joe Vollrath (Alyssa) of New Franklin, MO, Frankie Kathleen Doty, (Steven) of Boonville, MO

Bill was employed as a Maintenance Engineer at Midway USA, in Midway, MO., for 20 years before retiring in 2015.  He loved playing his guitar and singing his favorite country tunes, entertaining those around him. Bill also enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting and spending time with his beloved family. 

Bill was devoted also to the Wallace Lodge #456, The Ararat Shrine Club of Kansas City, Mo. and the Boonslick Shrine Club and well as Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie  #1022 in Boonville.

Left to mourn him are his wife, 7 children, 21 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, his sister Cheryl (Russell) Imhoff, numerous nieces, nephews, many cousins and aunts and uncles.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, Arnold W. Green, his brother, Donnie J. Vollrath, sister Glenda Vollrath Heckman, one nephew and two grandchildren.
